Additional Information:
This is an instructor-led Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED course offered through the American Red Cross (ARC) and satisfies Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) workplace safety certification requirements. The First Aid Online Only course does NOT meet OSHA guidelines, as OSHA requires attendance of an in-person course. A skills session for First Aid only is not offered through our agency. You must complete the full in-person First Aid/CPR/AED course in order to receive an OSHA approved certification.
This First Aid/CPR/AED course will meet the requirements for most CNA’s, daycare workers and the general public; we also offer Basic Life Support (BLS) which is a more advanced level of CPR training for healthcare professionals. Please confirm with your employer prior to registering.
This Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED course incorporates the latest science and teaches students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as burns, cuts, scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck, back injuries, heat and cold emergencies and how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies to help victims of any age – adults (about 12 years and older) and pediatric (infants and children up to 12 years of age).
Certification Card:
Upon successful completion of this course a valid 2-year digital certificate for Adult/Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED or CPR/AED is issued through the ARC. A certificate of completion will be issued for First Aid Online ONLY courses. ARC courses offer a digital certification, an online version of an ARC certificate, which provides anytime, anywhere access to student training history and course certificates. Digital certificates can be viewed, printed, or shared online and can be accessed anytime through your ARC account. Each certificate includes a unique ID and a QR code which meets employment requirements and allows employers to easily confirm your certificate is valid. There is no need to carry your printed certificate around anymore!
Your digital certificate will be sent via email from no-reply@redcross.org to the person/business purchasing your course, unless requested otherwise. You can look up your certification at https://www.redcross.org/take-a-class/digital-certificate. Please allow our office up to 5 Business Days to issue certification cards. Although it never takes that long.
Registration and payment must be completed BEFORE class in order to reserve a seat. Please give our office a call at 863-680-1277 ext 1002 to check availability after online registration closes.
PLEASE NOTE, RESUSCITATION MASKS ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL CPR COURSES. THESE CPR MASKS ARE A PIECE OF REUSABLE MEDICAL EQUIPMENT AND USED TO HELP PREVENT THE TRANSFER OF BODY FLUIDS FROM MOUTH TO MOUTH, WHILE STILL ALLOWING YOU TO ADMINISTER AID SWIFTLY AND EFFECTIVELY.
*A face covering is also required to enter into Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center
More than 350,000 cardiac arrests occur in the United States each year outside of the hospital. Bystander CPR can double or triple a person’s chance of survival but unfortunately less than 46% receive CPR prior to arrival of emergency personnel. Increasing awareness and education in the community can increase this percentage. Citizen CPR Inc is the only Non-Profit agency in Polk County, Florida whose focus is providing CPR, AED & First Aid Training courses in the community.
Citizen CPR is an approved distributor of the Philips® AED and Zoll® AED product-line of automated external defibrillators (AED). For more information regarding equipment or supplies, please visit https://citizencprinc.org/purchase-aed/ or contact us at 863.680.1CPR (1277).
