Additional Course Information:
This instructor-led BLS course is offered through the American Heart Association (AHA) and satisfies Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) workplace safety certification requirements. An AHA textbook will be available for your use during the class. You will receive a digital textbook once you have claimed your certification card. This eBook is no additional cost to you.
If you are not a healthcare professional, your employer may not require a BLS certification as this is a more advanced level of CPR training. Please confirm which certification is required with your employer prior to registering; as we do offer Adult/Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED classes that will meet the needs of most CNA’s, daycare workers and the general public.
This BLS course provides prehospital providers, like EMTs, paramedics, fire fighters, in-facility hospital providers and other public safety professionals the knowledge and skills necessary to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adult, children and infant patients.
BLS courses train participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). This course reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).
Certification Card Information:
Upon successful completion of this course, a valid 2 year digital certificate for BLS Provider is issued through the AHA. AHA courses offer a digital certification, an online version of an AHA certificate, which provides anytime, anywhere access to student training history and course certificates. Digital certificates can be viewed, printed, or shared online and can be accessed anytime through your AHA account. Each certificate includes a unique ID and a QR code which meets employment requirements and allows employers to easily confirm your certificate is valid. There is no need to carry your printed certificate around anymore!
Your digital certificate will be sent via email from Ecards@AHA.org to the person/business purchasing your course, unless requested otherwise. You can look up your certification at https://ecards.heart.org/student/myecards. Please allow our office up to 5 Business Days to issue certification cards, although it doesn’t take that long.
Registration and payment must be completed BEFORE attending class in order to reserve a seat. Please give our office a call at 863-680-1277 ext 1002 to check availability after online registration closes.
PLEASE NOTE, RESUSCITATION MASKS ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL CPR COURSES. THESE CPR MASKS ARE A PIECE OF REUSABLE MEDICAL EQUIPMENT AND USED TO HELP PREVENT THE TRANSFER OF BODYILY FLUIDS FROM MOUTH TO MOUTH, WHILE STILL ALLOWING YOU TO ADMINISTER AID SWIFTLY AND EFFECTIVELY. IF YOU ARE BRINGING YOUR OWN IT MUST BE PROPERLY CLEANED AND SANITIZED.
*A face covering is required to enter into Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center.
More than 350,000 cardiac arrests occur in the United States each year outside of the hospital. Bystander CPR can double or triple a person’s chance of survival but unfortunately less than 46% receive CPR prior to arrival of emergency personnel. Increasing awareness and education in the community can increase this percentage. Citizen CPR, Inc. is the only Non-Profit agency in Polk County, Florida whose focus is providing CPR, AED & First Aid Training courses in the community.
Citizen CPR, Inc. is an approved distributor of the Philips® AED and Zoll® AED product-line of automated external defibrillators (AED). For more information regarding equipment or supplies, please visit https://citizencprinc.org/purchase-aed/ or contact us at 863.680.1CPR (1277).
